Childcare Assistance

Licensed Child-Care Facility

School Closure and Emergency Childcare

At this time, we understand the difficulty parents are facing through school and childcare facility closures. We are currently opening a limited number of slots to families in need of temporary child care throughout this closure. Because of our large facility, we are able to control social distancing easily while still allowing athletes to have fun and provide a sense of normalcy. Throughout this time, we will enable all health measures as outlined in our Gym Health Updates.

We will be providing childcare by the day or weekly during this time. Throughout the week, participants will play games, participate in fitness classes, have fun educational sessions and craft time. This is open to students K-5th grade from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Please reach out with any questions by calling us at 660-238-0577.

COVID-19 Applicable Gym Procedures

Here are the details and precautions we have taken:

  1. As of two weeks ago, we began sanitizing every mat and piece of equipment between classes and after every event. (YOU may have even been sanitized at one point by our staff – all of whom are eager to show you how seriously we take your child’s safety.) We are sanitizing door handles, tables and chairs, ledges, bathrooms, water fountains, the front desk, etc. on the hour.
  2. For many years, we’ve had sanitation stations throughout the gym. As sanitizer is getting slightly more challenging to find – we’ll be taking classes to the restroom with a hand-washing monitor (usually their coach) before every class. Sanitizer will be used any time little hands go in mouths or touch faces throughout a class.
  3. This week we will begin administering temple thermometers for every staff member prior to the beginning of their shift. Our staff is following the same hand-washing and hand sanitizing procedures as our students. Any staff member with symptoms of a cough, cold or fever will be instructed to stay home and seek medical care. We love our staff, and their health is extremely important to us as well.
  4. One major benefit we have here at Twisters is TONS OF SPACE. This week, you’ll see us implement a form of social distancing throughout our classes. We will be putting mats down in our event center on the south end of the building to increase our allowance of space per athlete. We’re truly blessed that “social distancing” is not a major challenge in a 35,000 sq. ft. building.
  5. We are recommending any non-essential family members or friends who typically observe classes stay home at this time. (We understand many of you have little ones who must attend during a sibling’s class, and we fully understand that. We do ask that they follow the same hand-washing procedures as our athletes by washing when they enter the building.) Any grandparents or family members with a compromised immune system should also consider staying home at this time.
