Recreational Cheer is an introductory-level program for athletes who want to experience all types of cheer from all-star style routines to sideline and gameday cheer. This type of cheer is run in sessions throughout the year with no formal commitment.

Recreational Cheer Teams
Tiny Performance Cheer
Tiny Performance Cheer is new to Twisters this year! This half-year program is perfect for ages 3-5 years old who are wanting to learn about all star cheer and looking for fun opportunities to perform throughout the community and at a competition (without the competitive aspect!)
Half-Year Novice Teams
Half-Year Novice Cheer runs approximately December through April and provides athletes an opportunity to learn an all star novice routine and compete at one local competition in the Kansas City area. Athletes may not be ranked as a novice team, but will perform a full all star routine at a full-production competition.
Full-Year Novice Teams
Our Novice Teams are the perfect way to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading. With half- and full-year teams, we offer a program that is diverse in its level of commitment while also economical for families. Novice cheer is perfect for athletes without cheer experience and for those with minimal tumbling experience. Or novice athletes learn the fundamentals of cheerleading and compete locally.
Prep Teams
Prep is a fun competitive program at Twisters where athletes begin to get more serious in their knowledge of cheerleading and their level of competition. Our prep athletes use the fundamentals of cheerleading and tumbling that they learned in recreational classes and novice cheer to begin perfecting technique and showmanship. Our prep teams compete within four hours of Twisters with most events being less than one hour away.
Elite Teams
Elite Cheerleading is for our most serious athletes who are committed to excelling at all star cheerleading. These athletes know and understand their positions within the team and work together to build a highly competitive routine that is performed locally, regionally and nationally at our end-of-season event. These athletes are committed to challenging practices and push themselves to achieve goals as individuals and as a team.
