How can I sign my child up for classes?

Twister Sports offers a rolling enrollment for all recreational classes so you can begin classes at any time throughout the year. There are several ways to enroll in classes. For the best enrollment offers for all new students, we recommend visiting There, you can purchase a trial membership so your child can check it out for a lost-cost and low-commitment prior to enrolling. If you prefer to do this in person, you may stop by any time, or call to make an appointment for a tour of our facility. If you already know what classes you would like to enroll in, you also may register on our website under the Client Log In tab!

When  can my child start classes?

Because of our rolling enrollment, students may start recreational classes any time throughout the month. For competitive classes, parents may make an appointment for their child to be assessed by an instructor so he/she is placed at the appropriate level. If dance classes are within a performance-window, students wanting to enter may have to wait a couple weeks for a new routine to begin.

How do I know if classes have openings?

We currently offer more than 100 classes each week at our two locations. If you are interested in a particular class, you may call to find out if there are current openings. Our web registration option only allows enrollment in open classes. Most classes are offered several days a week so we can usually find a time to fit in to almost any schedule.

Can we try a class?

Absolutely! We recommend purchasing a trial membership at for the best experience. Our trial memberships allow the athlete to fully experience the classes at Twister Sports at an introductory rate and with no required monthly commitment. During the first trial class of the membership, we can also give you a tour of our facility and introduce you and your child to our coaches! We’re certain you’ll love the confidence-building experience children have here at Twisters!


What if my child has to miss a class?

Not a problem! We understand that your schedule is busy, and many school events happen at night — not to mention — kids just get sick! Any time your child has to miss a class, just let our front desk know, and we’ll help you set up a make up class that works for you! Most of our classes are offered several times per week, and it’s very easy to schedule. If your child is in a class that’s not offered as often, we’ll find a suitable alternative.

What should the athlete wear to class?

Tumbling students should wear either a leotard or a shirt that tucks in and shorts or leggings. Students will be required to take off socks and shoes for tumbling and trampoline classes. Long hair should be in a pony tail or off the face and no dangling jewelry is allowed for the safety of the athlete and the coaches.

Gymnastics students must wear a leotard or unitard. Shorts or leggings may not be worn for safety reasons. Athletes will not wear socks or shoes during this class. Long hair should be in a pony tail or a bun and no jewelry is allowed.

Cheerleading students should wear shorts, a t-shirt or tank top, sock and clean tennis shoes. Hair should be in a pony tail and no dangling jewelry is allowed. Shoes that are not deemed “clean” by the instructor will not be allowed. Students who are barefoot may not participate in stunting due to safety.

Dance students should have hair pulled back and no dangling jewelry. Hip Hop students may wear tennis shoes (or Converse-style shoes), sweat pants or shorts, and a t-shirt. Combo students should wear a leotard, tights, a tutu (optional) and bring tap and ballet shoes to class. For preschool students, jazz will be done wearing ballet shoes. For beginner students, jazz shoes may be required by the instructor. Ballet shoes may be found at local retailers, including the Danskin brand at Walmart, while tap shoes may be found at Payless. Occasionally, the consignment area at the gym may offer dance shoes.

Jiu Jitsu students should come to class in a t-shirt and shorts. Our martial arts students will have the option to purchase a gi, but it is only required for those who will compete in a particular division. If you decide to purchase a gi, Twister Sports places orders several times per year.

What extra costs may be incurred?

Tax is added to every service and sale within the gym. Missouri State Sales Tax laws apply. The gym’s annual fee of $35 will be charged on your anniversary month each year (the month you began classes.) Recreational cheerleaders may be required to purchase a t-shirt for performances, but costs will be minimal. Recreational tumblers and gymnasts will not be required to purchase anything extra. Competitive students must purchase uniforms and competition fees.

Who will be instructing my child?

The coaches at Twister Sports are extremely qualified! We do monthly coach’s training where we discuss the nature of teaching children, specific skill sets that coaches must possess to work with different children, new techniques and drills for teaching skills, and hands-on spotter’s training. Our coaches attend annual conferences where we learn new skills as well as update our credentials. We are a United States All Star Federation gym, and we hold a variety of stunting, tumbling and safety certifications. Coaches undergo rigorous training when first joining our staff and shadow top instructors prior to teaching on their own. Quarterly assessments are given for instructors to help provide feedback on their levels of communication, ability to teach clearly and safely, and individual skill set. If you have not yet met your child’s coaches, please let our front desk know you’d like to meet them!

How do I pay for classes?

Twister Sports offers automatic debit for our students. Accounts are charged the 1st of each month. Parents who prefer to pay in cash or check may do so prior to the first of the month, but a valid credit card is required on file. Those who are not able to provide a credit card on file may pick up an application for quarterly payments to be paid by cash or check.

How can I change my child’s enrollment status?

To put an account on hold, please send an email to [email protected] To cancel an account, Twister Sports must receive written notice via email prior to the 20th of the month prior to not be charged the following month. This courtesy notice allows others to enroll at this time. Many of our classes have waiting lists. Putting an account on hold does not guarantee re-enrollment into the original class. Note: Disenrollments will no longer be accepted at the front desk or via Facebook. It is important to send this through email to ensure the account is properly notated on the date the email is received. You will receive an emailed confirmation within 24 hours. 

How long might I be on a waiting list?

Some of our classes fill up very quickly and waiting lists seem to develop over night! In the past, if we see a waiting list getting too long, we have been able to add a class or we add coaches to increase our available slots. If you have been on a waiting list for more than three weeks, you may contact us to see if we can find you a different class that may suit your needs.


How do you determine if classes are canceled for weather?

It is very rare that we cancel classes for weather. However, should inclement weather arise, we first look at the safety of our staff when traveling. If we feel like we cannot adequately staff our classes during inclement weather, we will notify families via email, Facebook, and text. Please see the front desk to receive text-message notifications. Twister Sports does provide make up classes for anything your child may miss.


What do you do during weather warnings?

If a tornado watch is issued, the gym will remain in full operation, and our staff will closely monitor all media for updated information. In the event of a tornado warning, the athletes and their families will be escorted to a safe zone with our staff until the warning is cancelled. Our facility will remain open during this time for those who are already traveling to the gym when the warning is issued.

Do you cancel classes for citywide events?

We feel that it is very important to be active members of our community. Through our character-building curriculum, we discuss words like “citizenship” and “initiative.” For that reason, Twister Sports actively participates in events throughout the year as a gym family. Parents will receive notification if classes are canceled due to these events via email, facebook and app notifications. Any classes that are missed for any reason may be made up.
